Chainsmokers – #Selfie [Music Video]

The electro production duo known as Chainsmokers have never been ones to take themselves too seriously (check their artist bio for a good laugh). And their first ever original label release, #Selfie, is proof that they couldn’t care less what you think of them. #Selfie is a relentless electro party track draped by an annoying monologue of a girl heard all too often in bars and clubs across America. #Selfie has been making the rounds since Thanksgiving but the official release, along with the music video, are fresh of the decks. The music video for #Selfie was “compiled with all this great submitted #Selfies from Fans, Friends, DJS and Celebs.” Check the video to see if your mirror pic made the cut.

On first go, I thought the voice over was  a little over the top, but after subsequent listenings and fist pumpings, I can’t help but follow along. The song is full of amazing lines, my favorite probably being “It’s not even Summer, why do they keep playing Summertime Sadness?”

In case you didn’t know, Chainsmokers is a New York based project composed of Drew Taggart & Alex Pall. The team made a name for themselves releasing big remix after big remix. Their work is starting to pay off as they now have the support of Dim Mak records.
