The Acts I Am Least Excited to Miss at Global Dance Festival
The party gods work in mysterious ways and this weekend they have other plans for me. Instead of seeing my dream line-up on Sunday night, I will be enduring the heat and humidity of the Midwest while riding my bicycle across the great state of Iowa. Here are the acts I am least excited to miss this weekend at Global Dance Festival at Red Rocks:
Probably bringing more actual instruments on stage than any other act, Beats Antique makes dance music your parents might actually listen to, assuming your parents have excellent taste. Appearing on Friday night, the more mellow sound will be a nice change of pace compared to the extremely bass heavy lineups of Saturday and Sunday. Check out this hour long mix:
This one should be self-explanatory. Gramatik is great. So is Griz. Why not put the two friends on the same stage? They will each play individual sets on Sunday, Griz at 10:15pm then Gramatik at 11:15, before taking the stage together at 12:15 am. Future funk at its finest.
MiMOSA is closing out the festival on Sunday night appearing on the main stage from 12:45 am to 2:00 am. He was without a doubt one of my favorite acts at EDC Chicago this past May and I have been dying to see him again. It will be interesting to see how many people stick around so late on a Sunday. His eclectic mix of EDM can best be described using his most recent album title: Future Trill.
